What is an E-commerce website?
To fully understand what an E-commerce website is, we also have to look what a non E-commerce website (Informational website) is. There are mainly two types of websites users access across the internet.
Informational Website:
An informational website basically provides information about any given business or product and its services. All the sufficient information about the business and their every piece of information can be found on these informational websites.
The main purpose of these websites is to showcase their services and bring traffic to their website to engage more target audience but all the transactions take place offline.

E-Commerce Website:
On the other hand, E-commerce websites actually provides the means for the consumer to actually buy the products and services provided by the said business online. E-commerce websites are specifically designed to facilitate commercial transactions and it involves the online transmission of information.
The most prominent feature of these e-commerce websites is that they are not just confined to large auctions websites, financial management sites, business to business transactions, etc. But they encourage local businesses to implement online transactions of products and services provided by them.
The most famous examples of E-commerce websites are, aliexpress.com, amazon.com, etc.
